Providing ergonomic comfort and support for those who serve
Duty belts, utility belts and battle belts worn by police officers, military, EMS, construction workers and others can contribute to lower back pain due to the biomechanical stress they place on the lumbar spine.. These belts, laden with essential tools and equipment, can lead to an exaggerated inward curve of the lower back called Hyperlordosis, causing strain on the intervertebral discs and facet joints. Prolonged use of duty belts can also result in imbalances in the pelvis and hips, exacerbating sacroiliac joint and hip dysfunction. Additionally, the constant weight-bearing load from these belts may induce muscle fatigue and spinal compression especially when worn in conjunction with kevlar and ceramic body armor.
